1. Idukki :
The construction of this Dam commenced on 30 April 1969. Storage of water in idukki reservoir commenced in February,1973. The inauguration
of trial run of the first machine was celebrated on 4th October,1975.
Commercial operation of the Power Station was Commissioned on 12 February 1976
by the then Hon.

Idamalaya
Idamalayar Dam is a
multipurpose concrete gravity dam located at Ennakal,
Ernakulam. Near Bhoothathankettu, on the Idamalayar River, a tributary of the Periyar River in Kerala, South India. Completed in 1985, with a length of 373 metres
(1,224 ft), the dam created a multipurpose reservoir covering 28.3 km2 (10.9 sq mi)
in the scenic hills of the Western Ghats.

Sabarigiri

Sabarigiri
Hydro Electric Project (IHEP) is the second largest hydro electric project in Kerala.
The project was
commissioned in 1966 with an installed capacity of 300 MW. The RMU of the Project was undertaken during the period from 2005 to 2009,
increasing the installed capacity to 340 MW.
The
reservoir storage is utilized by a hydroelectric power station which has an installed capacity of
75 MW with two units of 37.5 MW capacity, producing an
annual energy output of 380 GW·h.
The large
reservoir created by the Idamalayar Dam is operated by the Kerala State Electricity Board to
augment its peak power generation requirements. The
dam will benefit the Idamalayar Irrigation Development Project by diverting water
released from the tail race channel of the Idamalayar power station.

Pallivasal
:
The first unit of the Pallivasal power station was commissioned on 19.03. 1940. The
second unit on 2-2-1941 and the third unit on 19-2-1942. The inaguration of Pallivasal power house was done by the then Diwan of Travancore
Govt Sri C.P Ramaswami Iyer on 19-3-1940.

Sholayar

Solaiyar Dam was officially opened in 1965; the Solaiyar Flanking
was built in 1964 and
the Solaiyar Saddle Dam in 1965.

Kuttiyad

Kuttiyadi
Hydroelectric Power Project is erected at Peruvannamuzhi dam of Kuttiyadi River in
Kozhikode District of Kerala. The power project is
commissioned in 1972. The installed capacity of power plant is 225 Megawatt.
The type of project is Major,
since its capacity is greater than 25 MW.

Kuttiyadi
Additional Extension Scheme :
The first unit was
commissioned on 11.10. 2010 and second unit on
30.10. 2010, raising the installed capacity of the project to 225 MW. The project was executed
by BHEL - L&T Consortium

Panniar
:
The Ponmudi Dam, in the Idukki district, State of Kerala, India, is a hydroelectric project constructed across the Panniar River, a tributary of the Periyar River which is the
longest river in Kerala. Built in 1963, it
has a length of 294 metres (965 ft).
10. Neriamangalam :
Neriamangalam Hydroelectric Project is located in the Panamkutty Power House, at Kallarkutty Pambla Road of Idukki in Kerala. It was commissioned in 1961. It has an approved capacity of 77.65 MW.
